American Airlines Flight AA331 Crash Lands in JamaicaWednesday December 23, 2009 - American Airlines Flight AA331 crashed landed overnight on December 23rd just beyond the runway of Norman Manley International Airport, in Kingston Jamaica. The flight, which took off from Miami, Florida, resulted in more than 40 injuries, with at least 4 in serious condition. The plane reportedly overshot the runway when landing in heavy rain. According to the New York Times the flight "originated at Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C. It had taken off from Miami International Airport at 8:52 p.m. and arrived in Kingston at 10:22 p.m. It was carrying 148 passengers and a crew of six, American said. The majority of those aboard were Jamaicans coming home for Christmas, reported Information Minister Daryl Vaz."
